
The IX Brazilian Symposium on Glass and Related Materials
The IX Brazilian Symposium on Glass and Related Materials (IX BraSyGlass) was held in Curitiba, PR, Brazil, from 3 to 6, June 2012, simultaneously with the 56th Brazilian Congress of Ceramics and the 1st Latin American Congress of Ceramics.
The IX Brazilian Symposium on Glass and Related Materials is
organized every two years and is a unique opportunity to bring
together researchers and technologists working in the field of
glass and related materials, not only in Brazil, but all over the
world, to present their most recent research work, to share ideas
and experiences and to catalyze the interaction of Brazilian
scientists, technologists and students with renowned international
experts. The event typically provides a relaxed atmosphere in a
comfortable venue to facilitate contact among participants,
promoting the exchange of information and fostering future
research collaboration.
The partner Brazilian Congress of Ceramics promotes the
interaction of various sectors in Brazil involved with ceramics (manufacture,
technical teaching, universities, research institutes, raw
materials, equipment and supplies) aiming to advance the ceramic
science and technology in this country. Its broad character
welcomes the various ceramic segments (structural ceramics,
coating materials, refractories, whiteware, tiles, technical and
engineering ceramics) and other common topics, such as new
materials, new processes, energy, environment, mineral sources,
innovation, quality, human resources and others.
The 1st Latin American Congress of Ceramics was a new opportunity
for integration and cooperation among the 21 Latin American
countries, by expanding the knowledge of activities and
capabilities in the field of ceramic in the Continent.
The official language in the partner events 6th Brazilian Congress
of Ceramics and 1st Latin American Congress of Ceramics was
Portuguese and Spanish. The official language in the IX Brazilian
Symposium on Glass and Related Materials is English.
